Diggables is a Portland-based snack company working to pioneer tasty, feel-good snacks from an all-star ingredient—naturally gluten-free buckwheat. The first of its kind, these light & crispy buckwheat puffs are nutrient-dense, climate-friendly, and rooted in Maine (we source buckwheat from Bouchard Family Farms in Aroostook County). Our founder, Toby, has always had a passion for developing climate-friendly solutions to products we use (or eat!) every day. He ran into buckwheat during a project to upcycle spent grains from breweries several years ago, and a pandemic-induced pivot led to a full embrace of the wonders of buckwheat. He quickly realized he'd stumbled upon a climate-conscious and deliciously guilt-free snack that didn’t sacrifice flavor for nutrition. After lots of taste-testing to finalize puff size, density, and flavor, Diggables launched in June 2023 in three delicious flavors: Sea Salt, Garden Herb, and White Cheddar.
