Hello everyone, my name is Katie and Outlandish Creations is my brand. I personalise, design and make each piece to order so they can be exactly what you or your client is after. I went to the University of Falmouth in Cornwall to undertake a degree in Studio Ceramics. I loved being in Cornwall. The sea and rock formations really interested me and I started making very sculptural work. I wasn't sure if throwing or handbuilding would be my favourite thing to do and surprised myself when slip casting was what I really enjoyed. All my work is slipcast (which in layman's terms it means I make a mould in plaster then pour liquid clay in to the mould to form the vessel). I fire my items then glaze my items then add the decal transfer and fire again so it is a long process. I make dinner services, mugs, tea cups and saucers, tea pots, milk jugs etc. I also do other commissions so drop me a line if there is something else more you would like to discuss.
