I work directly with a family of artisans in Uruguay who build miniature ship in bottles. First modeling clay is sculpted in the bottle to resemble water. Then a ships hull is inserted through the neck of the bottle and imbedded into the clay. Then each mast is painstakingly inserted and glued to the hull. This process is repeated until the ship is completed. The Bottle is then glued to a wooden base complete with a brass plate with the ships name.
