Michelle Barrionuevo-Mazzini is the Founder/Creative Jefa of CASITA MICHI. As a 1st-Gen Latina born to South American immigrants and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Michelle's profound connection to her Latiné roots and upbringing has been at the cornerstone of her entrepreneurial journey and the narrative she hopes to share with others. With the lack of representation in the home fragrance space, she set out to create a product that would empower her community to feel seen while practicing unapologetic self-care through intentional messaging and culturally empowered phrases. Our consciously crafted vegan coconut wax candles are hand poured in micro-batches using high quality non-toxic fragrance oils that are phthalate-free. Our packaging includes components that are eco-friendly, biodegradable, and 100% recyclable. In addition to being a brand that values sustainability and social good, we believe in the power of belonging through intentional and purposeful representation. Throughout the year a portion of our sales are donated to organizations that raise awareness and provide support for social causes that affect the BIPOC community. CASITA MICHI is one of the first Latina-owned candle brands to debut at Macy’s, and her signature line of empowering candles can be found both online and in select stores throughout the U.S.
