I created Clocky in 2005 while I was a student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. As an over-sleeper who was routinely late for my morning classes, I knew waking up would require some ingenuity. Lying in bed one morning, I realized that the alarm clock needed a makeover. It didn't have to be a black box that stares blankly, often failing at its sole job. Combining my love for aesthetics with my passion for fixing things, Clocky was born. I presented my initial prototype, a funny-looking shag-covered Clocky made with materials from my local hardware store, to my MIT Media Lab course, Industrial Design Intelligence. Almost overnight, my prototype went viral when a blogger posted Clocky on a popular tech blog. Clocky and I became media darlings, traveling everywhere together. We graced the cover of Inc. magazine and skirted around the stages at the Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Today Show, and Good Morning America. I gave thousands of interviews for publications, TV shows, and radio stations, from the New York Times and Forbes to BuzzFeed and NPR. I was still a student when Clocky was born, so I spent the next year figuring out how to put a product on the market. I bootstrapped my new venture and launched Clocky in late 2006. This lovable clock now wakes up millions of over-sleepers around the world every day. We have a perfect five-star rating and a 100% sell-through rate.

Nestled at the edge of the Pacific Ocean, Anne Gates is a one woman operation, she’s designer/maker that takes on textile based work and sewing, as well as hand-built and wheel thrown ceramics with equal passion. Throughout these different mediums, her distinctive style comes through. Sustainability is at the forefront of the brand, all ceramics are created in a green studio that recycles clay and glazes, and is very conscious of water usage. All soft goods are made with sustainability in mind, and the knit throws, sweater coats are made of 100% recycled cotton.

Clay artist Donny Walton grew up in Seagrove, NC in the studio of his parent’s pottery shop. As a teenager, he was known for his clay mythical figures and slab-built luminaries. Today he lives and works in Star, North Carolina and enjoys designing and making slab-built ornaments and trinket dishes. His work features elements from nature as well as hand drawn images pressed into clay ornaments.

Bonnie Denecke is the creator and designer behind Madymae Felt Florals. She has been a Certified Wedding Coordinator since 2003 and began working with wool felt in 2006. In 2010, she began selling felt florals on Etsy and has since launched her own successful website. This year she moved her studio into and launched a brick and mortar, Madymae on Broadway in the 1000 Islands Region of NY. Bonnie was honored to be featured in the Better Homes & Gardens Holiday Craft Issue in 2021.
