Hello, my name is Ilka Pia and I am the woman behind art.from.ilkas.heart Deeply touched by nature around me and the landscape of my soul, I create magical art with oil paint, handmade paper and gold leaf. The ancient art form of block printing allows me to give birth to expressive goddesses that take the viewer on a journey with their own feminine nature. I create my art in service of our spiritual connection to mother earth and as an inspiration to revive and strengthen this bond. I feel very blessed to call myself an artist and live my passion. Even though I studied art and always had the deep wish to work as an independent artist, it took me some time to find out which art form would become my language for exploration and expression. When I discovered block printing it immediately triggered my natural curiosity and soon it developed into the art I create today. Rediscovering and remembering that I am part of nature is the focus of my art. The realms of animals, femininity and the plant world is what my soul is drawn to.
