Mrs. Little’s Tea and Toys Cafe and Gift Shop began as a dream when I was a child and manifested in Hamilton Missouri after I retired from teaching math. I love serving my down-home high tea, and entertaining children with my hand-crafted toys. One of my other passions is writing. It is hard to remember specific events and timelines that have have made me a writer. Everything behind me rolls into a big ball of life that somehow explains how I got here but I cannot untangle it enough to make an “author’s biography.” I can tell you there have been constant elements: a relentless creative mandate that I alternately crushed and encouraged, a dedication to children, my own and other’s, a pursuit of excellence, whether it be in teaching mathematics or dancing, a relationship with the quantum world. I have travelled, enjoyed a handful of husbands, been broke and flush, been a grandmother, a criminal, an angel, and an enemy. I have done and been many things but I believe creation is the highest endeavor a human can pursue. It is a divine act to make manifest what at first only exists as an idea. I find it thrilling and satisfying whether I have created a good recipe, or human, or geometry lesson. Appreciating your efforts thrills me too. Shall we egg each other on?
