Welcome! I'm Nina - a maker and fiber artist and Speckled Finch Studios is my small hand-dyed yarn company run out of my home studio just a stone's throw away from both Ocean Beach and Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. I've been knitting since 2004 which led the way to experimenting with hand-dyeing and, eventually, to the launching of Speckled Finch Studios in 2017. My yarn is dyed in small batches and colorways are inspired by a magical mix of the stunning nature found along the Northern California coast, pop culture, and whimsy. I believe that making and creating can connect and bring people together and I care a lot about what happens in my community (locally and far beyond). I strive to continually learn and grow as an individual and as a business - so that my online and physical spaces are safe for people of all races, religions, socio-economic status, gender identities, sexual orientations, abilities, and bodies. I'm committed to social justice for marginalized people and regularly donate to organizations that advocate for those causes and amplify the voices and needs of the people they support.
