Based in Sheffield and established in 2019, VeganYarn.co.uk offer a range of plant-based, sustainably and ethically sourced fibers. We use no animal products in our whole production process. We do use some plastics but these are all reused and reclaimed, there is no single use plastic in our entire process or packaging. We even use seeded plantable paper for all or tags and gift vouchers. We have a wide range of yarn bases available – from the more traditional cottons and hemps, to newer inventions such as the shiny tencel or the super soft bamboo rayons. The we have our handspun yarns which are harvested, retted and handspun with even using electricity and are incredibly sustainable and eco friendly – these include bamboo, seaweed, pineapple, soy, nettle and banana. We also have some unusual paper yarns which are great for basket weaving – just don’t get them wet! We understand many of our fibres may not be well known or widely used, and so if you have any questions about any of our fibres, whether they are suitable for a particular project, or wish to request a sample, please get in touch – were always happy to talk about yarn! Our current yarns and colourways can be found on our website or we can offer custom dyes. If you have a pattern you want to make simply send it to us and we can dye the yarn in your requested colours and in the correct amounts.
