The inspiration behind SunStyle began with a trip to Japan. We noticed that most Japanese women had healthy, even radiant, skin. We also observed that ladies of all ages wore fashionable UV gloves and used parasols, not only to shield their skin but also to complement their outfits. If sun damage is a cross-cultural problem, why aren’t there more skin protection options available in the US? That’s when the idea for SunStyle was born. Just like our overseas friends, Americans have a love of style, fashion and outfit coordination. But unlike the Japanese culture, there isn’t as much of an emphasis on skin safeguarding. While sunscreen and sun avoidance are ways to reduce skin damage, they aren’t practical.
