Bakers’ Southern Traditions is a family-owned peanut processing company located in northeastern North Carolina in a small farming community known as Roxobel. The Baker family grows peanuts as well as corn, cotton, soybeans, wheat, and sweet potatoes. Bakers’ Southern Traditions was developed from a passion and desire to use the great tasting Virginia-type peanuts like we grow on our farm to make healthy snacks and delicious candies. We use only locally sourced peanuts (some that are grown on our own farm), never imported peanuts. All of the cooking, candy making and packing takes place in our FDA/NCDA approved and inspected processing facility. Although our peanuts are not organic, they are grown and processed with the upmost care and we use Good Manufacturing Practices throughout the entire process. Over the past decade Bakers’ has served our customers and local businesses and has expanded to major retail stores, such as Harris-Teeter, Lowe’s Foods, military commissaries, gourmet gift shops, and restaurants across the United States. Peanuts are naturally cholesterol and gluten free, and offer a range of vitamins and minerals, such as Vitamin E, fiber, magnesium, folate and niacin. Peanuts also offer the most protein per serving that any other nut. Peanuts are a natural source of plant-based protein which many health experts recommend choosing as part of a healthy lifestyle. Vegetarians find that peanuts are a great source of protein and can be used in many recipes
