Grácia Sofia, the founder of the brand, leads a team of women artisans who create and manually make textile pieces for fashion brands around the world. With each work completed, there are threads, fabrics, buttons... For those with a creative vision, all these unused raw materials are valuable: something waiting to be built! The richness of textures, colors, touch... As Grácia looked at all these resources stored in her warehouse, in her mind she imagined them transformed into true works of art, unique as these treasures, made by women for women! Mhodzi is a term that originates from the Shona dialect of the Bantu tribe, who live mainly in Zimbabwe, in South Africa. Mhodzi means seed and represents growth and renewal. The seeds of the soul complement our goal. We go beyond sustainable fashion, we create accessories that are statements of style and responsibility. Each Mhodzi piece is a promise of empowerment, elegance and care for the environment and the people around us. All the raw material we need has already been made, so our mission is to transform what already exists, to show that a special ornament does not have to carry with it the negative impact that accompanies the world of fashion. We believe Mhodzi has a bigger goal. It took several years for Gracia's dream to take shape. And it's not just a dream anymore!
