Hi! I'm Lexie. Founder/ designer of Moon Star Baby and Mommy to Jule. When shopping for Jule, I often found myself wondering why high-end baby products tend to have such muted, neutral designs. Babies are fun! Babies want color! So why was it so hard to find anything fun or colorful? I wanted a well-designed, sophisticated, and imaginative space for Jule — and given my background in textile design, I figured I might as well create that space myself. I begin each and every design the same way. I think of exciting destinations. Exotic animals. Magical creatures. Then I put watercolor to paper. I paint the backgrounds and the flora and fauna motifs. The watercolors are digitized, collaged, and then printed on the highest quality 100% cotton sateen.
