New Hope Mills started in Moravia, NY as a flour mill servicing the local farming community in 1823. Now more than 200 years later the business is still alive. Rancho Meladuco Date Farm was founded in 2015 by Joan Smith a mom of 3 and accountant turned date farmer in Southern California. Joan and her husband grew dates on their family ranch in the Coachella Valley for many years and friends and family, accustomed to their annual gifts of the freshly harvested, hand-packed dates, plead with them to sell the delicious dates they were growing. When her youngest child turned 4, Joan decided it was time to take a turn at date farming. The small southern town of Ailey, Georgia is now home to Dr. Pete's Foods. We are known for our delicious marinades, sauces, dressings, baking mixes, and the famous Praline Mustard Glaze. Dr. T. A. Peterson, known as Dr. Pete to his patients, was reared in this sleepy south Georgia town. It was here that he enjoyed many meals with family and friends and learned to love entertaining with great food. After becoming a doctor, he was often seen with his worn, black leather doctor's bag in hand entering homes around Savannah, Georgia, to check on a broken bone, to give a shot, or administer a friendly dose of good conversation. As much as Dr. Pete loved his practice of medicine, he equally loved the art of cooking, and he spent many joyous hours creating and preparing wonderful dishes and sauces for his family and friends. In 1985, his daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Joel Coffee, began bottling some of his recipes, and selling them to the public under the "Dr. Pete's" label. My family and my health journey first began years ago when, out of necessity, my need to rethink food quickly became my passion. Samuel was trying to impress an acrobat. Back in 2010, he got obsessed with pancakes. For two years, he made pancakes four and five times a week - sometimes twice a day. He had fallen for an acrobat, and wanted to impress her with breakfast. The cakes needed to be tender enough to call cake, but packed with enough protein and long-lasting complex carbohydrates to get her through her workouts. Samuel got deep into local grainshed economies, regenerative farming, and most of all, stone-grinding whole heritage grains. Long story short, there were pancakes at the wedding. They took $5,000 and an oversized whisk and started a business. In 2023, Samuel took the company on Shark Tank, complete with circus and celebrity guests! Within 6 weeks of airing, Long Table did over $1M in sales. That consumer response made it possible for us to grow our team, streamline our manufacturing process, and ramp up production. We love good food, made simply. Started in my home kitchen in 1991, we continue to bake our breads from scratch without any additives or enhancers. We use fresh, whole ingredients like real butter, fresh garlic, and expeller-pressed oils. These commitments result in a crouton like no other. We have grown out of the home kitchen and now operate out of our to a state of the art commercial bakery, in Brandon Vermont.
