Port of Joy Co. was born out of a life-changing moment, a season of transition, rediscovery, and redefining what joy truly means.Our founder, a former Microsoft engineer and new mom, found herself at a crossroads. After years in corporate and the tech world, she realized that the life she wanted for her family was one filled with purpose, creativity, and presence. She longed to build something meaningful, something that allowed her to stay home with her newborn son while bringing light and comfort into the lives of others.During her pregnancy, the desire for cleaner air and a more intentional lifestyle became essential. Store-bought paraffin candles filled the air with toxins she didn’t want to breathe, and the travel-inspired scents she craved simply didn’t exist. So, she began to create them herself. Crafting candles that told stories of faraway places, inspired serenity, and celebrated culture through fragrance.What started as a creative outlet soon blossomed into Port of Joy Co, a small business rooted in passion, purpose, and personal transformation. Today, each candle we pour carries that same intention: to bring warmth, inspiration, and a sense of escape into your everyday life.Our fragrances are inspired by real destinations that awaken the senses — from the calm of a Maldives bungalow to the vibrant rhythm of Brazil, to the grounding peace of Yellowstone.
