With about 300 years of history, glass is deeply rooted in Marinha Grande and its people. It can be said that the glass industry is part of the family tree of most families in this region. Today's glassmakers are the children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren of glassmakers. There is a culture and knowledge of the craft that has been passed down from generation to generation.
