The story of the Tyrolean pine pillow OR... how to bring a piece of alpine air home! Growing up on a farm, I developed a close connection to nature at an early age. Every summer, I spent a few weeks with my grandfather on the mountain pasture to help him there. Our alpine pasture is located at approx. 1500 m above sea level, surrounded by wonderful mountains in a beautiful landscape. Sometimes it was pretty exhausting. My grandfather was a very hard-working man. He always had something to do. Every evening after the cows were milked and cared for, my grandfather cooked dinner for us. As long as daylight allowed, we read old messages that our family sent us every few days via milk guide. Later, when it was dark and I was lying on my bunk bed in the alpine hut, I listened to the familiar sound of the bells of our cows. A day came to an end and a feeling of satisfaction and security rose in me and fell asleep happily. I later worked in a woodworking company for many years. Wood is a wonderful material. I always loved pine wood with its unique scent. When piles of pine are hidden behind other piles of wood, you can smell them long before you see them. A few years ago I had the idea to put the chips from it into a pillow and put it in my bedroom.Read their story
