About Golden Child Candles

Hi, my name is Tyler and at Golden Child Candles, we believe home is where you feel safe. I started making candles in 2019 as part of my fall and winter holiday activities with my niece and nephews. We made candles for our parents and everyone thought it was cute. Afterwards, I continued to dabble until I'd filled my home with them. My mom, my product tester and biggest supporter, was the first person to see that my hobby could become so much more. So with her encouragement, Golden Child Candles was born just as the pandemic was kicking off. The pandemic brought its own challenges as I jumped headfirst into business ownership and e-commerce. But the biggest hurdle would be one that I didn't see coming. In 2021, I inherited my deceased father's home, an1890s Victorian beauty that hasn't changed structurally since the 1920s. The neighborhood it sits in is a victim of redlining and circumstance. We've been using our profits to renovate and restore the house while also bringing awareness to the neighborhood and its history.Read their story
