About Annabel Reese

Annabel Reese is a calligraphy-focused stationery company based in Metro Detroit, Michigan. Founded by Elana Hopman (and named after her two daughters), Annabel Reese creates delightful cards and paper goods with messages of love and reassurance. Cards for Jewish holidays and milestones anchor the brand, offering elegant and beautifully printed cards for the Jewish community and those who celebrate them. When Elana couldn't find a single Bubbie card in a sea of Nanas, Grammys, Nonnas and Grandmas, she decided to make her own. Combining transliterations of common Hebrew phrases with modern calligraphy, Elana found her creative voice and purpose for the company. When someone Jewish recognizes a Hebrew phrase (perhaps one of the only Hebrew phrases they know!) in a shop on Main Street - they feel seen in a way that had previously been reserved for Judaica stores or the synagogue gift shop. Elana is a busy mom of three, always thinking of ways to save time without sacrificing presentation and thoughtfulness, and her witty products embody that intention. Best-selling Translation Notes and Milestone-ish Cards perfectly demonstrate the art of simplifying the card and gift process for the giver, while delighting the recipients. All products are designed by Elana in her home studio and printed in the United States. Her calligraphy is the star of the show, combining two decades of traditional lettering practice with a modern look and messaging.
