My name is Amy and I’m a painter inspired by the natural world. Birds are my primary subject matter and I love pairing them with botanical, landscape, and texture elements. I'm an avid birder and for almost every bird I paint I use my own photos for reference - this has been a beautiful combination of passions and I've endeavored to collect a wide variety of bird photos from all across the US to build my library of images. To make original paintings, I work in oil, acrylic, & watercolor, and enjoy creating images with rich layers of color and detail. In 2020 I began offering my work as fine art prints and note cards at outdoor markets, and as of Dec 2023 work with several shops in Virginia & beyond as well as the National Aviary in Pittsburgh, PA, with whom I've made a custom line of prints/notecards to feature some of the aviary's popular birds. I welcome this type of project with other organizations and also offer name drop customization on select items. The shop is stocked with new items every couple months and I'm always open to custom collaborations for specific birds based on your region. If you don't see something you are looking for in the shop - just ask, it may be in the works or something new that I can prioritize! My paper goods are printed locally here in Cville VA and I work closely with my printer to ensure the highest quality of items! Processing times can vary by the season.
