Beyond 85 Coffee is the product of two passionate coffee producers with different approaches to creating the very best cup of coffee. Jose F. Bedoya, our founder and a civil engineer, grew up surrounded by coffee plantations and ‘reverse-engineered’ the best coffees around the world from the cup to the farm, developing a deep and technical understanding of how to bring out the very best of a coffee bean. Jose’s story started at a young age on a small plot of land where he learned the value of hard work and the importance of quality as he worked weighing, packing, and sealing bags of beans and making deliveries in his father’s car. This experience profoundly shaped his life and ignited his lifelong passion for coffee. In 2022, Jose was introduced to Roberto Giesemann, the former Chairman of the International Coffee Organization (ICO) and a fourth-generation coffee grower and exporter from Southern Mexico. Roberto was captivated by the unique roasting processes and quality standards that Jose developed. With his passion for high-quality coffee reignited, he joined forces with Jose as Senior Managing Partner to bring Beyond 85 to life. Coffee is one of the most consumed beverages in the world, second only to water. The powerful combination of art and science of Jose’s and Roberto’s backgrounds produces one of the best cups of coffee in the world. They are committed to providing the highest quality coffee.
