Judy Z was a Real Person. Home was always where Judy’s heart was, and so was her food. A friend, a sister, a Babci (grandma in Polish), and most importantly, a mother to all, Judy Z thrived on giving both delicious home plates and advice. Besides her three sons, her kitchen was her passion, and her house in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn, was where everyone called home. In the old days, there wasn’t a time when you wouldn’t find yourself sitting at her kitchen table, which was actually built from an old piece of butcher’s block, talking about life and eating food (maybe even indulging in a tasty libation). For all those who sat there, Judy imparted whimsical morsels of wisdom “to go” for their journeys through life. While her wisdom remained with her boys after her death, Judy’s precious recipes were lost when they lost her in 2013. By what some would call a miracle or maybe even the guiding hand of Judy’s spirit herself, her long-lost recipe book was found after seven years of searching, strangely enough sitting in a box under her youngest son’s desk in his home office – in plain sight. And thus this small, but powerful brand was born to honor her memory, love of cooking and her desire to feed all those who would happen to visit her home. Welcome!
