Annette Downing is the founder of Matcha MarketPlace located in Napa, CA. Her entrepreneurial spirit started years ago baking biscotti, cookies and coffee cakes but took a turn when she decided to create a healthy and nutritional breakfast offering. While searching for a unique and different type of product her daughter, Haley who is an avid tea drinker, came home with a selection of colorful and beautiful tea leaves. After reading the information that came along with the tea leaves stating how healthy steeping the leaves is she decided to add the leaves to her oatmeal the next morning. Although the bowl of oatmeal was beautiful the taste was inedible. After doing a little research she stumbled on Matcha and was excited to learn about all the healthy benefits it offers. Matcha is high in antioxidants, promotes heart health and boost brain function. She ordered it from Japan and again added it to her oatmeal. Excited about the taste, healthiness and presentation of her creation, Matcha MarketPlace was born!
