About Pure Hart Artwork + Apparel

Pure Hart founders and muralists McKenzie and Elliott Smith moved to Woodstock, NY in 2022 after 10 years painting murals throughout the US under the name Headspace Murals. The town transformed them. Their work is inspired by nature, crystals, and invisible worlds. Their murals line Tinker Street from end to end of the iconic town, dubbed the "most famous small town in America." In 2025 they expanded their business to include prints and apparel, embracing the new moniker "Pure Hart" inspired by the poetic term for "deer" and by encounters with the gentle, brave, agile, swift, graceful, and majestic creatures that surround them in Woodstock. A "Pure Hart" seeks to protect these creatures and their qualities - in themselves and others - in nature and in daily life. They hope their work is worn and displayed to promote peace and to inspire like-minded individuals to seek truth and to fight for what they believe in - to live boldly as their true selves in a world where being kind and protecting the innocent isn't easy. Their apparel is crafted with intention and printed on sustainable, durable, fashion forward fabrics. Their design approach incorporates subtle cues that seek to embolden the wearer. For example, their hoodies incorporate "easter eggs" in the form of messages on the sleeves printed upside down. Their designs are meant to spark joy, engage the subconscious, and aid those who seek to heal.
