I'm Julianna and Maragold Designs is my London-based, handcrafted accessories brand and design studio. In pursuit of more fulfillment and connection to my work, I started Maragold in 2019 in Boston, MA, where I am originally from, though I now call London home. I’m inspired by the artistry and heirloom-quality of handcrafted goods, nature, my travels, European style, and my New England roots. My personal belief is that experiences are more important than things and so those things that we welcome into our lives must be worthwhile, purposeful and feel special. Through a focus on functionality, craftsmanship and carefully selected materials, each piece in the collection embodies the true meaning of 'quality over quantity'. My aim is to create versatile and timeless pieces that become embedded into your everyday and that you love to use. Each element is carefully considered and the minimalist design showcases the natural beauty of the materials. Small-batch production reduces waste and helps promote conscious consumption. Maragold accessories are created to be wonderfully tactile and to stand the test of time, developing rich character through use. I handcraft each piece using both hand-stitching and machine stitching processes and work primarily with Italian vegetable tanned leathers, which are a by-product of the food industry, and Burel wool. From time to time, I will introduce a new textile – but only when I’ve stumbled across just the right one. Thank you for being here!
