Lisa Moore changed the swimwear industry. After leaving an investment banking job, she became an influential figure in the world of fashion when Cover took off in 2008. Lisa needed a chic and easy solution to keep her skin protected while focusing on her young children. The brand was the first to design and produce sleeved swimwear, launching the rise of sun-protective swimwear. Cover uses their own swim jersey fabric which eliminates nearly all UV rays and provides incredible temperature control. Moore has empowered women around the world to stay safe and comfortable in the sun, and to do so in style. Her younger sister’s bout with melanoma made the mission of Cover a personal endeavor. VOGUE: "Lisa Moore, designer of the Dallas-based start-up Cover, was inspired to create a long-sleeved UPF 50+ maillot after her 23-year-old sister was diagnosed with a melanoma on her arm. Even those who seek refuge under an umbrella might want to stock up: According to a recent paper in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology an estimated 50 percent of UVA exposure occurs in the shade." Cover's line of sun-conscious clothing can be found at international retailers such as Net-a-Porter, Shopbop and Neiman Marcus. Lisa designs and manages operations from her Dallas office, and Cover is manufactured entirely in Los Angeles. Her love of the arts is evident in the eclectic collaborations she has coordinated over the years.
