About MAPWORKS - Jane Revitt

MAPWORKS is a range of homeware printed with beautiful details of contemporary and vintage maps designed by Jane Revitt. Cushions, tea towels, aprons and trays feature coastal towns, rural beauty spots, city centres and many more places in England - plus one of her favourite areas of France! It is an ever expanding collection and items can be made to order for particular locations. Jane is an artist and designer with a special interest in textiles. She has designed and made extraordinary costumes for theatre and created large-scale artworks for particular places including castles, woodland, hospitals, a hilltop and a zoo. MAPWORKS developed from the Talking Chairs she designs for schools, museums, libraries and historic houses, many of which are upholstered with maps. The Map Chairs made for her hometown were such a popular feature of the Arts Festival that she started making cushions printed with a local map for people to buy. That was the start of the ever growing retail collection. Jane works from her home and studio in Hebden Bridge, a small town in Yorkshire. All the products are made in the UK using sustainable materials and processes wherever possible.
