Elizabeth Gillett founded her namesake brand in 1991 after losing a favorite scarf and not finding a replacement anywhere. Using her background in painting and printmaking she designed her own version and soon had orders from the Whitney Museum and Barneys NY followed by a feature in the MOMA catalog. Today Elizabeth Gillett continues to create original art for scarves as well as printing designs provided by museum and gift partners. Her prints are inspired by the world around her: NY galleries, global textile history, nature and travel. Elizabeth believes a scarf can transform any mood - brightening the face like a great shade of lipstick and empowering us with coverage & styling options.
