Atelier Diospyros is a brand of precious wood creations made in Fougères in Brittany (35) since 2018. Committed cabinetmakers-designers, we save scraps of wood to transform them into jewelry, decoration and everyday accessories. We work in contrast to the cabinetmaker who designs his furniture and orders his wood, so it is the randomness of the wood we order that will define the shape and number of our creations. We like to work with precious wood like precious stones, thus creating small objects with mineral and geometric aesthetics, to pay homage to the material. As a couple in life and associated with the workshop, we design our creations with four hands. Antoine Buron is a graduate of the arts and crafts in cabinetmaking and Clémence Quitterel, a graduate of École Boulle in Design. The idea of working together came naturally with the desire to share our mutual know-how, by combining the work of the graphic form and the material. Diospyros is the scientific name of the ebony family. The ebony that gave its name to our know-how: cabinetmaking. Ebony is also our wood of choice.
