Welcome to Official World Chess Store! This store is the home of the celebrated official Championship Chess Set. Designed by Pentagram, this is the only chess set in the world approved by FIDE for use in the World Chess Championship matches and have been exclusively used in the Matches since 2013 by Magnus Carlsen and his opponents. The sets are produced from carefully selected stock in limited quantity for the cycle and available exclusively through World Chess and our retail partners. The Store is run by World Chess, official organizer of the World Chess Championship Cycle events, including the World Chess Championship Match that took place in London in 2018. The items offered in the store are developed and produced by World Chess and Pentagram. Range of boards includes premium leather boards aimed to last many generations as well as inexpensive paper boards that have been designed by Pentagram and produced in England to reflect the modern aesthetic of chess. All of our products are easy to store in an apartment, in line with our believe that in order to regain space in people’ homes, the new chess has to be well-designed and fit modern apartments.
