In late 2021 I found myself unexpectedly unemployed. The company I was working for downsized eliminating many positions including mine. Like many others, I struggled to find employment in the midst of the pandemic. So, I had to get creative. Thus, Shabby Chic Boutique was born. What was once a hobby rehabbing furniture for myself and a few friends has now turned into a flourishing business. One of the first custom projects I completed was on my own home. After marrying my husband, a dairy farmer, I had the privilege of moving into his family's farmhouse. Although charming, the farmhouse was in need of some serious TLC. So, with the help of my husband, we got right to work redesigning the entire home turning it from shabby to chic. Seeing my vision come to life in my very own home gave me the confidence to turn my passion into a business. I love sharing the visionary process with my customers and helping them to create the custom pieces of their dreams. Rehabbing furniture is the heart of our business, but our online boutique also includes household goods, seasonal goods, and a variety of personal style items.
