It all started ten years ago with a laser cutter received in a trade. It really wasn't the kind of machine we could use in the tool making business my husband and I owned. But it didn't take my then 14-year-old son long to get the machine up and running. He started out wooden award plaques for local school groups then branched out selling ornaments and decorative pieces at local craft shows. Finally, he did his first wholesale show just before setting off for college. It wasn't exactly perfect timing but the laser was left in my care and while I churned out orders for the next four years I became intrigued with what the laser could do. Now we're inGENEius, a mother and son team who make unique products from wood, fabric, paper and metal like the Matchbox Miniature - a 3D scene the size of a matchbox, greeting cards featuring Prim our bossy Jack Russell, Coastal and Country Clocks, coasters, the patented FlipiT Jewelry Cleaner, paper sculpture, bookmarks - well, just about the only thing our products have in common is that we make them all here in our workshop in Bristol, RI!
