About Woo Me

Hello, my name is Leslie Holland, the founder of Woo Me Beauty. Woo Me Beauty is a sustainable nail care company that promotes nail growth, decreases nail-biting, and provides health education. I started Woo Me Beauty after being told by my physician that I had a fibroid. As we know healthcare for black women is not in our best interest and my physician didn’t provide me with much information about what a fibroid was. As a health educator, I educated myself and changed what I put in and on my body. It wasn’t until 2018, an article was published that stated 80% of black beauty products contained harsh chemicals. When talking about beauty, nail care is not on the top of the list. Which leaves us more susceptible to using toxic nail products. Studies have shown that toxic chemicals can be found in your bloodstream 2 hours after applying nail polish. I love getting my nails done every two weeks but I hate the way my nail look during the removal of gel polish. They become brittle, break and I always have to start over. Nail growth serums in stores contain a toxic ingredient called formaldehyde and that causes reproductive issues. It makes me think about my fibroid. I started Woo Me for individuals who needed a healthy alternative to growing your nails.
