In 2012 I tasted ghee for the first time while studying yoga and Ayurvedic Medicine. Because of all the incredible health benefits, I knew adding it to my inventory of herbal medicines was important. Full Moon Ghee was born 2 years later as an addition to my Sweet Birch Herbals product line and now I am infusing herbs, spices, cacao, and local maple cream into the most recent varieties. Blending my passion for herbal alchemy with food as medicine makes my heart sing! Full Moon Ghee is crafted with pure Jersey Cow butter sourced from small farms in the Northeast. The cows are fed high quality grass and hay, and never treated with hormones or antibiotics. Although we are not "certified organic," our practices are deeply rooted in sustainability while honoring the Earth's cycles. Each batch of our artisanal ghee is made on the full moon, infusing wellness and vitality into every jar. Ghee’s high smoke point makes it the ideal oil for high-heat cooking. Ghee can tolerate heat up to 485 degrees Fahrenheit, compared with butter and coconut oil which both burn at 350 degrees.
