This whole chicken thing may have all started with my Granny - she spent her childhood running barefoot, playing in hay fields and learning the ins and outs of poultry care on the family’s 100+ acre pastured egg farm in Petaluma, CA. There was a boom – or maybe it was a bust – but in the ‘60s, the egg industry moved east. Fast forward to 2005 my son Jake took on a 4H poultry project. He started with three baby chicks..... and the rest is blur. I trading in my department store suits and heals [aka legal job] for all.things.chicken. I was all-in. Ahnnd, one day in 2009, I hatched the small but mighty Treats for Chickens where we create premium chicken treats and tried-and-true problem solvers for the modern backyard chicken and their discerning poultry parents.
