Explore our colorful world of artfully handcrafted resort-inspired bags and jewelry that are carried at shops from the Four Seasons to independent small stores across the world. Clare Hynes is the designer and founder of Soli & Sun. She's originally from the UK but a love of travel and adventure has seen her move around the world, from Ireland to China, to the Philippines, and now the US. All the jewelry is handmade by Clare in her studio in WA, and all the handbags and pouches are designed by Clare and handcrafted using traditional Filipino weaving and textiles which are then constructed by a small workshop team in South Cotobato, Philippines. Clare lived in the Philippines for three years and it was during this time that Soli & Sun was born. Not only did the Philippines influence her design aesthetic, but she was also inspired to create a brand with a purpose at the heart of it. She was able to connect with a co-operative whilst living there and together they work with communities of female artisans from the Tboli tribe of Lake Sebu. These women create the beautiful traditional textile called T’nalak which the T’boli tribe is known for. They also create the stunning ‘Solihiya’ rattan weave, both of which Clare incorporates into her designs. Read their story
