Before launching an art-based accessory line, fine art photographer Melissa Anne spent over 15 years working in disaster management. With a focus on post-trauma support, she worked with companies around the globe in preparing for and responding to mass fatality events. The camera and search for beauty to be captured became her lifeline during her high-stress career. Melissa Anne describes her photography style as Impressionist - aiming to capture the momentary, sensory effect of a scene. She captures what she sees beyond the detail and into a world of color, light and loving connection with the beauty of the natural world. Her images are created with an in-camera technique and are minimally processed with digital editing. A head injury in 2018 impacted her mobility and vision, temporarily taking away her ability to explore and capture the sights through her camera. The melissa anne COLORS designs to color life accessory line was inspired by her photography, healing journey and love of accessories and fashion. Melissa works with small businesses in the US, Canada and Europe who strive to use natural fabrics, believe in fair pay and healthy work environments and have programs to support nature conservancy.
