Hi, I’m Gemma and I founded Scoff Paper… The bone-fide first rawhide-free, potato based edible greetings cards for dogs. I’m also an ambassador and puppy raiser for the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association. I started Scoff Paper, when one of our guide dogs in training, Loki, decided he’d try and eat his paper-based birthday card… and Hey Presto, the idea was born! Since then, we’ve sold a lot of doggie cards and built a facility that can manufacture around 2 million cards per year and our cards are available in independent retailers in 17 different countries! We started off with dog birthday cards and have since expanded to a crazy range for all occasions... and have a range of natural flavours that includes bacon, chicken, cheese and peanut butter (all are natural and contain no actual meat or dairy). You might already know this, but in February 2024, I took Scoff Paper in to the Dragon’s Den on BBC1 (the UK version of Shark Tank). I was so delighted to find that Sara Davies, the Crafting Queen, was actually a big fan of crazy edible dog cards and she made me an offer and I accepted! Since then, my little company has been working with Sara on growing our business and making lots and lots of doggies all around the world very happy.
