Meagan Meli creates artwork for those who love spooky cemeteries and bask in Halloween's past. Meagan is an artist based in Cranford, NJ living with her husband and two cats in a cute, spooky abode. Her work is highly influenced by historic Halloween illustrations, 20th century Disney color palettes/ textures, symbolism found in cemeteries, and occult illustrations. After a series of devastating events, she began frequenting Green-Wood Cemetery as inspiration. Naturally, the theme of death, grieving, and mourning symbolism became consistent in her artwork. Though her themes could be considered dark, they are bright, silly, and playful at the same time. After graduating from FIT in 2015 with two degrees under her belt in Fine Arts and Illustration, Meagan immediately started selling her artwork online. She sold linocut art prints, patches, cards, and more! As the years went on, Meagan was able to create a fully functional home studio, now printing and distributing her own artwork. Now, Meagan’s shop is flourishing with original artwork, giclee art prints, framed art prints, holiday decor, small batch items such as throw blankets, and stationery! Most items are made by her hands at home, and any manufactured items are created in the USA in small batches.
