Monocircus is a design atelier based in Japan run by husband and wife, designer and artist team, established in 2011, with the concept of pursuing various forms of art and design, unconstrained by scale, ranging from accessories and small items to be worn, to furniture, public art, interior and architecture design. To date, Monocircus has created a multitude of fashion accessories with the concept of ‘Wearable Art’ objects that are produced mainly by 3D printing technologies. These 'Wearable Art' items are mainly made of nylon plastic which is very lightweight and hypoallergenic. Each item is original in design with fascinating structural forms and textures, and are hand-dyed in customizable colors. Their unique intricacy and stylish presence is gradually creating a growing clientele in Japan and around the globe. Monocircus' designs have been featured in Designboom.com and numerous local Japanese magazines. Some of our fashion accessories collection had been sold in the Metropolitan Museum Shop in New York. They are also available in the Mori Art Museum Store, Fukuoka Asian Art Museum Shop and the Pola Museum Store.
