About Pom de pin

The POM DE PIN brand was created in 1993 by Dominique and Thierry PAQUOT, a couple of creative and curious Belgians. The idea came to them while visiting the Cité des Sciences in Paris where their attention was drawn to an astonishing machine from which a sock came out from time to time. It was the new Japanese craft of the Nagata brand, which was one of the first to knit patterned socks by electronic selection and allowed creativity to run wild. It was love at first sight for the product and the technology so that the Paquots decided to start selling novelty socks. Nature lovers, our Belgian friends adopted the “Pom de Pin” brand. They took the risk of manufacturing a first collection of 15 original models. It was over 30 years ago. Since then, several hundred patterned models have been made and the collection has been supplemented with new classical and technical ranges so that everyone can find their preference. The models have always been designed by Pom de Pin and produced by Desmazières-Drino, a very old company founded in 1815 and located not far from Lille, in the north of France.
