Hi! We’re the Happi team – Gavin, Lee & Rosie. As parents to small children and as people who love good food, we had been thinking for a while that what was missing from life (and the supermarket shelves) were top quality, healthier and FUN treats that we would be happy to feed our kids and enjoy ourselves… And so in the summer of 2020 we put our heads together and came up with Happi! Our range of allergen-free Oat M!lk Chocolate that tastes great; is lower in sugar than other leading Milk Chocolate brands; and is sustainably sourced and packaged. Better for our kids, us, and the planet. And so in January 2021, we launched Happi. Our supply chain is incredibly important to us and so we buy our Cacao directly from Colombian farmers, who Gavin has personally visited. This farm-to-bar method means we know who grows our chocolate and can guarantee that we are paying a fair price for it. No child or slave labour here, guaranteed. Made using single origin 47% Colombian cacao and oat milk, our lip-smacking bars taste deliciously smooth and creamy. As we like to say, ‘We’ve got all the Ooo without the Moo’. We never add vanilla or lecithin as they would hide the precious flavours of the beans. We make everything from scratch. Even roasting and grinding whole hazelnuts to get that freshly roasted taste in our truffles. And we make our Salted Caramel just as you would in a restaurant, clarifying the butter, caramelising the sugar and adding Devon double cream. Willie Harcourt-Cooze, cacao farmer, pioneer and chocolate fanatic has changed how millions of people around the world think about chocolate. With an aim to reinvent chocolate by replacing dairy with plant-based oat milk, H!P was then founded by James Cadbury in early 2021. In the 19th century, the Cadbury family revolutionised confectionery by producing one of the first milk chocolate bars. Nearly 200 years later, H!P is disrupting the chocolate market by rejecting the widespread dependence on dairy milk through the use of oat milk, a creamy and sustainable alternative.
