The Chrysalis Imagery cards were born from my walk through grief after losing my long-time mate in 2021 & the surprising discovery that I could draw. These soulful cards feature all original artwork & hand lettering & aim to uplift by normalizing the fact that life hits us all. Sometimes hard, and even that's okay. In designing a logo & choosing a business name, I knew I wanted to work with the symbol of a chrysalis. A chrysalis is a space of incubation & possibility. A place where alchemy & magic happen. And that's not always a neat & tidy process. When a caterpillar enters the chrysalis, it surrenders itself to a process of total transformation. Every part of its body except the nervous system, dissolves & reforms into something entirely different. I'm fascinated that the nervous system stays intact. It suggests that a butterfly retains its memory of being a caterpillar. It's a powerful metaphor for the messy & beautiful way that life stretches us into new expressions of possibility while holding the foundation of where we come from at our core. That message is at the heart of everything offered at The Chrysalis Imagery. About me...I've been a wellness practitioner for 30 years. That experience informs my art.
