Handmade by indigenous Khmu artisans in Laos using handspun fiber from a wild-growing vine. The artisans harvest JungleVine® from around their villages, hand-spin the fiber, and then use it to make totes, purses, and bath and body exfoliation products. Everything is made in their homes and villages and never sees the inside of a factory. Our nonprofit, working in Laos for 19 years, helps preserve Khmu tribal culture and their ancient craft. We connect artisans with the global marketplace. JungleVine® Eco-Friendly Products are sold in boutiques in 28 countries and territories. Our project combats poverty in a land pockmarked by bomb craters and contaminated by UXO. We are a nonprofit in Des Moines, Iowa and our overhead costs are covered by a generous donor.

The aim is for it to be a place where people want to work, can earn a good wage, and as a result, focus on what is good for them. We work a 4-day week on full-time pay and have flexible hours, not just for parents, but for anyone who needs it. Our founder is passionate about entrepreneurship as activism. By running a business in a way that benefits the employees first, we can show other entrepreneurs that not only is it the right thing to do, but it also makes good business sense to treat people well! Our literary-inspired products focus on sharing the joy of books, allowing people to live their best bookish lives and feel connected to an important part of their identity. Our collection features words and quotes from classic literature along with playful sentiments that any reader will relate to. We’ve absolutely loved becoming part of the bookselling community and are so proud to be stocked in hundreds of independent shops all over the world.
