Luna Sundara embodies the creative spirit and purpose of empowering Latin American artisans by showcasing their crafts globally. Sandra Manay, a native Peruvian and co-founder, originally planned to launch a clothing brand featuring traditional Peruvian textiles. However, her journey took a different direction when she noticed the demand for Peruvian aromatherapy oils during her spiritual explorations. Recognizing this niche, Sandra, with the support of her partner Thomas Konik, officially registered Luna Sundara as a wellness company in 2014. The company's name, "Luna Sundara," reflects its commitment to natural beauty and holistic well-being. Catherine Rising is a collection of home goods designed and produced in Rochester, NY, sold worldwide. Our OOAK products are designed and produced in our studio, or made in collaboration with like minded artisans and farmers. Our line draws inspiration from natural elements, craft, and a focus on bringing beauty to every day. Our pieces are assembled with care, by our close-knit team of women employees. Our floral and incense bundles are wrapped in vintage fabric, string, and yarn that is purchased from a local non-profit which sells secondhand and deadstock crafting materials, where proceeds go back to the community, providing sewing and textile-based classes, as well as job training. Our flowers and grasses are sourced through various growers throughout America, sometimes even from our own backyards for limited edition products. The palo santo we use is sustainably sourced in Ecuador by a company with a strong reforestation program, our eucalyptus is harvested and bundled on a small family farm south of LA. Our rope incense is fair trade, from Nepal, it’s handmade in small batches by women artisans, who keep ancient techniques alive. Our stick incense is rolled by hand in Mexico using the best resins and oils. Our studio team is responsible for making all our apothecary goods, which we hand-blend and pour from top quality materials, like olive oil and coconut oil, as well as beeswax and essential oils. Our cartons are printed with vegetable inks on PEFC board from sustainable, responsibly managed forests. Our plastic bottles are made from recycled plastics. The rest of our range is plastic free. Our soaps are milled with RSPO planet friendly palm oil. Our sustainable aluminium folk tins and stoneware pots are perfect to re-purposing into a wildflower vase or pen pot. All our candles come with a seed paper topper to plant in vessel when your candle is finished.

The Golden Altar - Originally began as Muse Incense when I realised how much incense was a part of my daily ritual. From meditating, cleaning or taking time for a cup of tea I always enjoyed lighting an incense and taking a moment. I wanted to bring that small ritual to more people’s homes. A time to be thoughtful, focussed or inspired. It was when my mum became poorly that I realised how bad for you a lot of incense can be. So I began to look into natural incense. I then worked on having beautifully fragranced incense that is made from natural ingredients and scented with essential oils, so they truly help you to unwind with a focus on aromatherapy. In a time when self love is more important than ever, I wanted to share something that felt like a treat but a treat for every day. Incense and eye pillows are where my journey with Muse started but more self love treats are on the way with the brand now being The Golden Altar there will be a focus on daily rituals, spaces and wellbeing.
