We upcycle the nutritious leftovers of brewing beer into healthy dog treats. Brewers' Spent Grain is very nutritious and most breweries sell/send it to farms for animal feed, but that is difficult for urban breweries. So we set up BrewBix to upcycle this nutritious waste into healthy dog treats. We set out to create a product that pushes the boundaries regarding sustainability, whilst being healthy for dogs and super tasty at the same time. GOOD FOR YOUR DOG We worked with a dog nutritionist to develop the recipe. Our Bix have just 5 natural, vegan ingredients that are good for dogs' digestion, skin and coat: - Wholemeal flour - Brewers Spent Grain - Linseed - Peanut Butter - Brewers yeast They are also very crunchy so can have a calming effect. GOOD FOR THE PLANET BrewBix are - Upcycled from craft brewery grain and yeast - Vegan friendly - Baked in carbon neutral ovens - Delivered in plastic-free, recyclable packaging We then measured all the carbon produced to make each batch, and have offset TWICE that amount. So our Bix have a negative carbon footprint.

How it all started - our story There’s nothing we love more than a bound with our hound; we are lucky to share our lives with a pointer and vizsla who love racing each other through parks and fields. We learnt that well trained dogs make relaxed owners so we created rewards which gave our dogs a high value treat but didn’t fill them up with nasties. The Buddylicious range has all the full-bodied flavour of pure meat and fish, and is designed to allow pocket storage with no stink. Our range of chews extends this philosophy – we source sustainable wood which is a by-product of the natural management process of olive and coffee wood groves. Our hard-wearing, low fat Himalayan yak cheese chews (originally used as a slow release protein snack for sherpas) are a perfect way to add healthy variety to your dog’s day. The idea began with a love of biscuits and puppy dogs and a dream to combine the two. The results, we hope you'll agree, are treats that everyone's best friend will love. All our Biscuits are Handcrafted, in small batches, in the Bark & Bake Kitchen. They are all made with the highest quality Organic ingredients which we locally source. Our animal proteins are from Organic farmers and are always Grass-fed and Free-range! It's important to us to add as much nutritional benefits to all of the biscuits we produce so that they truly are a complimentary treat to all pups diets. We make all our treats Wheat and Gluten-free and ,where possible, Grain-free. We add no preservatives or additives, and we do not use any refined sugars or sweeteners, all the sweetness we need come from natures fruits...you'll find no nasties here! We air dry all our products to give them the longest shelf life possible. For most this is a minimum of 5 months, however some seasonal stock will have a shorter date. We bake in small batches and upload all new batches on a Thursday. So please do not worry if we are out of stock, more will arrive soon. It's so important to us, as a small business, to reduce our carbon footprint as much as possible. Therefore all our packaging is made from recycled material and always recyclable itself. Apawtiser Naturally Good Treats are for those who want to know exactly what they are feeding their pups; what they contain and where they come from. The treats we produce are made with natural, human-grade ingredients and are free from animal proteins making them suitable for all dogs including those with sensitive stomachs. They are so natural you could eat them yourself! We hand roll and cut each treat ourselves and then bake them to perfection in our Nottinghamshire kitchens to ensure they meet our high standards. All of our packaging is compostable or recyclable. Apawtiser is a company born out of the love we have for our two Cocker Spaniels, Mac and Bow. Having discovered that Mac, our eldest spaniel, had several food allergies and intolerances, we found it extremely difficult to find treats that did not cause him discomfort. Even treats aimed at dogs with sensitive stomachs all contained ingredients he was sensitive to (including animal derivatives, maize and salmon.) The obvious solution was to make our own - luckily, we enjoy baking!
