Welcome to the Fin World where geometric forms, symbols, and stories meet with colors. Thank you for becoming a part of our creative journey! Fin opened its virtual doors not long ago, in 2020. It all started because we couldn't find notebooks we liked, so we decided to make our own, and over time, we added more helpful stationery products. Fin is more than just an online shop, it’s a creative studio that designs and produces custom products for other brands. Fin designs have colorful, minimal, and lively structures. They aim for simplicity, ease of use, and sustainability. First, we design and draw, then we print, cut, and sew. In other words, every Fin notebook you receive has been carefully crafted by our hands! Today we offer a wide variety of products. All of them are handcrafted with a great amount of skill and attention to detail at our small studio in Hertford, England. Fin is a place for our own designs & products we make ourselves, items we like to use on a daily basis, and things that feel good. Because we believe stationery is all about feeling good! Our name, A Blackbird Sang, is taken from a line in the poem Adlestrop by Edward Thomas: "And for that minute, a blackbird sang close by." Founded by Genny and Tony in 2016, our work is inspired by nature and poetry, drawn (by us) in our studio in Oxfordshire and all made in the UK. We exhibit our work at local and national prestigious events including Oxfordshire artweeks and the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. We use minimal plastic-free packaging. We work with suppliers who care about quality and deliver on time. Our smaller designs are packed by Julie here in our village of Stonesfield. Our key hooks are bent at our kitchen table, if not by Tony then by local students. Part of the A Blackbird Sang revenues go towards funding conservation projects such as meadow restoration here in Oxfordshire and supporting local and national charities in the wildlife, food and mental health sectors. Over the past 14 years, we have raised six babies between us, becoming more like sisters than friends. A true yin and yang duo, I get excited about putting beauty out into the world and Stephanie has the go-getter personality to make our dreams into a reality. We are proud to bring you a product line aimed specifically at encouraging women during major life transitions. We believe that God is always ready and willing to listen to our questions, fears, excitement, and struggles through the power of prayer. Hey, we’re a wife (Catherine) and husband (Jamie) creative team who work from a little black cabin studio in deepest darkest Cumbria here in the UK. We’ve been designing and making things from our studio since 2012, initially hand printing most of what we design, using techniques such as letterpress and screen printing. We became busy, very busy very quickly, so we had to tailor what we did to meet demand, which meant we had to decide to move some of our work to a digital printing process. We can happily disclose that the balance between the handmade techniques versus digital became a little digital heavy, so we are now feeling our way back to making things with our own hands, using our own skills and it feels good. We have a very keen eye for detail, which means that when receive a package from us, then you can rest assured that we have taken very good care of your order. From start to finish we pride ourselves on making sure that from the moment you receive your order it will be a joyous voyage of discovery and delight.
