Cheryl, co-founder of Concha Collar, was looking for a way to honor the memory of her beloved rescue dogs, Bogart and Johnson, who had passed away within 18 months of one another. Cheryl wanted to put something special on her current rescue dog, Stogie's collar as a memory of Bogart and Johnson--but couldn't find anything unique that fit the bill. Cheryl and her BFF Carla (now business partner) were discussing the lack of options (over wine, of course), and a great idea was born. What if the pet parent could design a collar that would show all of their current and/or past pets' favorite things? And their favorite things as well? If Pandora could do it, why couldn't we design a unique collar and leash concept for our precious furbabies? And so the concept was born. As crazy animal lovers, Cheryl and Carla were excited to create something truly unique that pet owners would love. They created a fun collar and leash design that would be customizable AND changeable. The pet parent can swap out the charms at any time for a holiday, occasion or just for a different look! Our collars hold 7 charms (mini size holds 5) and our leashes hold 3 charms. Our bone-shaped keychains have one spot for an interchangeable charm. There is nothing in the market like it. American Dog was inspired by our amazing dog, Gracie. For over 6 years Gracie has been hanging out in our factory where we make tactical products, fitness equipment, fashion bags and outdoor gear for a number of growing local businesses who insist upon being Made in the USA. Motivated by Gracie's passion for play, we began to build toys (which became prototypes) for her to play with while she was at the factory. Over the years, dogs belonging to other employees and several customers started visiting the factory as well. It soon became apparent that we needed more toys and that meant more ideas…American Dog was born. Hugo & Hudson was born out of frustration that we couldn’t find certain dog products on the market where premium high-quality products were matched with the latest fashion trends. Following on from the heartbreak of the loss of my dog Dougal in the Spring of 2016, I partnered up with my Labradoodle breeder, Francesca, to create Hugo & Hudson. We are always asked where the name came from, back in those early days Francesca had just got an Australian Labradoodle from America called Hudson, and I loved the name Hugo. Once I was ready to welcome a new Labradoodle puppy into our family the following Autumn, I really had to call him Hugo didn’t I!

From humble beginnings I started this business because I could see the plastic waste in our oceans. Something needs to change & I wanted to be part of this movement. Jolly Hound is run by me, Chaan - the designer and maker of all Jolly Hounds items. I started about at University creating womenswear clothing and knitwear. I changed paths when I got my first dog - Denzel, a Frenchie. 3 years and 3 more French Bulldogs later, I decided to combine my two passions - my 4 French Bulldogs and creating crafts to develop the brand Jolly Hound.
