We are East Coast souls. We also make a damn good pair of sunglasses. We aim to stay true to those roots in the shades we create, infusing a bit of grit, character & inclusivity to everything we do. We have been using recycled materials since before it was cool! -Our process begins by sorting single use plastic bottles and food containers. -The recycled plastics are shredded, cleaned and refined into workable pellets. -The pellets are then used during our molding process to produce new frames. -The end result - a 100% recycled frame that helps reduce the amount of single use plastics from ending up in our environment. 70% of our frame styles are made this way now. Art on Scarves was set up by North Wales based artist, Lucy Hay. Lucy's relationship with art finished before it began, when her art teacher told her to give up, as she had no talent whatsoever! After years of avoiding anything remotely creative, Lucy decided there must be an inner artist dying to get out. Enrolling in a morning drawing and painting class for bored housewives, Lucy discovered a talent that had been supressed for years, Art on Scarves was born! As the Company continues to grow, Lucy is joined by a couple of other amazingly talented British Artists, whose designs can be found throughout the collection.

Each water point was associated with one of these nymphs, and they were responsible for ensuring the good state of it and all the creatures that inhabited them.
