Joel Traylor is an artist of wide renown and distinctive style. His work has been an integral, popular, and admired staple at Eastern Market in Washington, DC for many years. His impressionist paintings have moved through many themes over the years as he has followed his creative curiosity, allowing seeds of ideas to flourish. From narratives, to landscapes, to fruit, to pure abstraction, his work is most often marked by the use of hard edged line concepts, which are countered by alternating textures and rich color swaths. Joel's original prints are are produced using archival pigment inkjet prints (giclee') on heavyweight matte paper. Individually titled and signed by the artist, they are matted to easily slip into a standard size frames. Each comes with backing board in a cellophane sleeve for proper protection and safe handling until it can be framed and added to your collection. In 2019, Joel added a whimsical new line of “giftables”, creating puzzles, tea towels, and umbrellas using his signature prints. As they were a big hit with the public, Joel is currently working on adding to that line of giftables, with tea towels, neckties, and journals are in the works for 2021.
